Happy 1st birthday

This layout is one of the firsts that I did. I wanted to do this since I have so many pictures of my kids already printed and waiting to be scrapbooked. This is my daughter's first birthday with all her cousins and boy, oh boy, did she cry!!! We had gone back home to meet up with all the family and with so many new faces, she could not keep up with it. I felt the birthday was very hectic for both of us since she wanted to stay in mommy's hands all the time!

I chose to play with the DCWV The Sweet paper stack and the "sugar" sticker is from DCWV too.

The banner is from Pink Paislee and held with some brown baker's twine. The butterfly is from Martha Stewart and the rest of the embellishments are from Me & My Big Ideas. A piece of green ribbon from stash was glued under the picture. I chose not to overdo the layout since it has been a while I scrapbooked.

Merry Christmas

This card was made for the October 2012 PaperTrey Blog Hop where we had to choose between some non-traditional color schemes for a Xmas card. I chose to play with this color scheme:

I took out the Train Tracks stamp set and paper pieced them.  It was tricy for me since I am not used to this technique. I used some white glossy accents for the clouds. I also added some Pink Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink on the gifts and added some glitter on the wheels.

Warmest Holiday Wishes + small tip to cut your ribbons

A close up

This card was made by following the sketch from Hero Arts. The cardstock was cuttlebugged with the Dots embossing folder and American Crafts ribbon were added. I used the Hero Arts Clear Design: For You Tag set for the sentiment and some color was added with the Desert Sand distress inks. Pop dots were added to give some dimension.

This is how I cut my ribbons:

CDAC Progessive Challenge #22a

This is my latest entry over in the challenge, 22#a, at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC). We were given a choice from 2 digis but I decided to go with this one first. I colored the digi stamp from Pattie's Creations called A Stitch in Time, in prismacolored pencils and my Bic markers.

First, I placed the tag in the cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls folder and then stamped it with some pigment inks. I then glued it with some adhesives and had some pearls for the pins. To finish it off, I added some ribbon from stash. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Hello

This card was made for the Penny Black contest which they had over this weekend. I followed the sketch and made it just in time to post it in their Flickr gallery. This stamp set "Toadily" is only one of the 2 stamps sets I have for Penny Black's stamps, unfortunately.

I chose only a few of the froggies and colored them with my Bic markers, then used my oval Fiskars template to cut around them. Pop dots were added to give some dimension.

The sentiment is from Stampendous and ribbon is from May Arts.

CDAC Progressive Challenge #20

This time over at CDAC PC20, we were given this cute piggie from Doodle Pantry to play with. Piggies are thought to be dirty all the time but I wanted to dress her up and add some embellishments to her.

I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturday to start with.

Sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Owl always love you!!!

Imaginisce with Scrapbook Trends Magazine is having a contest by using Imaginisce products. I don't own a lot of the tools but I only have the I-Rock and rhinestones.

The background was done by making a plaid pattern with two of the prosmacolored pencils. In this project, I used the light pink and a dark pink. Then, I stamped the flower on Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder to give it a dimensional look. I used the paper piercer to add some stitching effect to the heart and used pop dots to give it some height. I added some rhinestones to my punched hearts and glued some to the ribbon.

The I-Rock was very easy to use as the rhinestones already had adhesives at the back, which really helped in sticking them.
