Happy Birthday J!

Hiya friends, I am back to blogland again. The cold flu keeps banging at our door and will not leave us. Everybody has been sick over and over again and of course, this has placed a stop on my crafting projects.

This card is for my cousin J who will be celebrating her birthday on New Year's eve. She is a very kind person at heart and will always help whenever she can. I have tucked some gift cards to her favorite stores as a birthday present since she always tells me she has everything :-)

The image "Balloon Bouquet" is from Designed 2 Delight and this was given as a freebie if you participated in last month's challenge. It was colored with my Bic markers and matted on pink cardstock. Adhesived pearls were colored and added. I ususally follow a sketch but this time, I went on my own. The sentiments are from PaperTrey Ink.

{MFT} December Guest Designer Contest

This week was one of the busiest weekend ever and I was reading thru my emails, I saw this cahllenge. I thought I would not be able to make it but I did.

This is my first time I've participated in this challenge. I would love to have more MFT products because MFT have the cutest stamps and dies ever. The stamp used is MFT Joy Ride which is my first and only stamp set I have from MFT. I had this for a while but never got the chance to use it. I used the MFT's sketch.

Papers are from K & Co and I colored the stamp with my Bic markers and prismacolored pencils. I stitched around the border and used my Dots folder to give it some impression.

Happy Birthday to me

Today is my birthday and I made this for myself since I love the image and never do any card for myself! I also wanted to include a Xmas sentiment to start the Xmas celebrations, feels like Santa brought this especially for me :-)

I used the sketch from 365 Cards and used the image from Pixie Dust Studio that she generously provided as a freebie on her Facebook! Bic markers were used to color the image.

It's the most wonderful time of the year

Christmas is around the corner and people are starting to buy in their Xmas presents. We are still only in November and the radio is playing Xmas music!!! Personally, I find that it's tad too early for Xmas music, I would prefer the songs in December...What do you think?

Today, I have used the sketch here and used Doodle Pantry's birdie image:

Can't Bear Without You

It seems that Christmas is coming around really fast this year and I'm trying to make some cards to send overseas. I wanted to break from this routine by making this card for one of my friends whose hubby is in Iraq right now. It's very difficult for her to be without him especially with Remembrance Day coming up this weekend. Her dad was in the forces too and she can't help remember him.

I have used the Spellbinders Classic Squares to cut the image after I have colored it with Prismacolored pencils. I then matted it over some Pink Cardstock, layered it over some patterned papers after I have placed down a strip of punched border. I then stamped the sentiment in Black Tsukineko Memento Ink and popped it with some Pop Dots.

Happy 1st birthday

This layout is one of the firsts that I did. I wanted to do this since I have so many pictures of my kids already printed and waiting to be scrapbooked. This is my daughter's first birthday with all her cousins and boy, oh boy, did she cry!!! We had gone back home to meet up with all the family and with so many new faces, she could not keep up with it. I felt the birthday was very hectic for both of us since she wanted to stay in mommy's hands all the time!

I chose to play with the DCWV The Sweet paper stack and the "sugar" sticker is from DCWV too.

The banner is from Pink Paislee and held with some brown baker's twine. The butterfly is from Martha Stewart and the rest of the embellishments are from Me & My Big Ideas. A piece of green ribbon from stash was glued under the picture. I chose not to overdo the layout since it has been a while I scrapbooked.

Merry Christmas

This card was made for the October 2012 PaperTrey Blog Hop where we had to choose between some non-traditional color schemes for a Xmas card. I chose to play with this color scheme:

I took out the Train Tracks stamp set and paper pieced them.  It was tricy for me since I am not used to this technique. I used some white glossy accents for the clouds. I also added some Pink Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink on the gifts and added some glitter on the wheels.

A close up

This card was made by following the sketch from Hero Arts. The cardstock was cuttlebugged with the Dots embossing folder and American Crafts ribbon were added. I used the Hero Arts Clear Design: For You Tag set for the sentiment and some color was added with the Desert Sand distress inks. Pop dots were added to give some dimension.

CDAC Progessive Challenge #22a

This is my latest entry over in the challenge, 22#a, at Crafters Digital Art Center (CDAC). We were given a choice from 2 digis but I decided to go with this one first. I colored the digi stamp from Pattie's Creations called A Stitch in Time, in prismacolored pencils and my Bic markers.

First, I placed the tag in the cuttlebug using the Divine Swirls folder and then stamped it with some pigment inks. I then glued it with some adhesives and had some pearls for the pins. To finish it off, I added some ribbon from stash. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Hello

This card was made for the Penny Black contest which they had over this weekend. I followed the sketch and made it just in time to post it in their Flickr gallery. This stamp set "Toadily" is only one of the 2 stamps sets I have for Penny Black's stamps, unfortunately.

I chose only a few of the froggies and colored them with my Bic markers, then used my oval Fiskars template to cut around them. Pop dots were added to give some dimension.

The sentiment is from Stampendous and ribbon is from May Arts.

This time over at CDAC PC20, we were given this cute piggie from Doodle Pantry to play with. Piggies are thought to be dirty all the time but I wanted to dress her up and add some embellishments to her.

I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturday to start with.

Sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Owl always love you!!!

Imaginisce with Scrapbook Trends Magazine is having a contest by using Imaginisce products. I don't own a lot of the tools but I only have the I-Rock and rhinestones.

The background was done by making a plaid pattern with two of the prosmacolored pencils. In this project, I used the light pink and a dark pink. Then, I stamped the flower on Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder to give it a dimensional look. I used the paper piercer to add some stitching effect to the heart and used pop dots to give it some height. I added some rhinestones to my punched hearts and glued some to the ribbon.

The I-Rock was very easy to use as the rhinestones already had adhesives at the back, which really helped in sticking them.

Supplies:
Stampendous white embossing powder
Stamps - G Studio
Cardstock - Recollections
Punch - Maped
Ribbon - May Arts

CDAC Progressive Challenge#20

For the CDAC Progressive Challenge #20, we were given an option where we could play with a Halloween, a Christmas or lazy cat so I chose the XMas one since I needed to start on my Xmas cards.

The colors I used

I chose to make an easel card this time since I never do those. It is very easy to make though. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. Papers are from stash, used a satin red ribbon and doodled around the border.

Hope you like it.

Note: There will be a party starting soon when Create with TLC will  hit 2000 followers. So do come over and become one. You don't want to miss it!!!

CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge #1

Priscilla at CDAC offered us the image from Tiffany Doodles to play for  this challenge. I am trying to push myself to challenges so that I can craft else I will not make any...

Here's my card:

I have printed the background blue paper from SheryK Designs and for my sand, I cuttlebugged the cardstock first and then inked it with my Desert sand dew drop. I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils, used BG10 as my background and matted onto a yellow cardstock.

I doodled some lines to show where the butterflies are flying. The starfish were made by using a Marianne's Design Creatables and these were given some dimension with pop dots.

Finally, a close up.
